this is a final piece i have created based on the theme lighting and how objects and shapes work on lighting. i have created silhouettes, this being a silhouette of a bird on a branch, where i have added stitch to show small amounts of detail. i put it onto a lampshade to show where i what market i would like this design to go into.
this is another final i have created and placed onto a lampshade, i used print with the fabrics crunched up to show the patterns on different areas. i then used a soldering iron to add the wholes into the fabric so the light would shine through and create a shadow.
this is a final i created for netting in a window,i used print with the fabrics scrunched up and then took it further with stitch and stitched the colours in lines over the print. i placed this in the frame of a window to show where id like the design to be in the market.

these are the disperse dies used to transfer images(heat transfer).

these are my image printed on different fabrics that pick the die up well.
this is the original, this is the dies onto newsprint.
this is all the colours i planed to use in my prints, i did this to test how bright they came out.

all of these above are held up to a lamp to see the different tones the light brings out through the prints.

these are a couple of edits where i used 2 people, being me and marcus. i just messed around with the image settings and realy liked these..

these are some more self portraits, really me messing around with editing the images to create different effects.

Thursday 10 November 2011

the first image is on cotton where i free stitched afew shapes onto in different colours, and then took it to print and printed 2 layers of screen print over.the second image is of some free stitch before print.
these are layers of screen print the first is on paper, the second on fabric that already has a print on. i did this to see what the effect would be like with more layers on a pattern already printed into the fabric.
this is a print over lace. i drew over this to add some colour.

this is screen printing the first image is onto cork, i was testing which material the inks print best onto. the second is printing a few layers on different materials.
these are the same pattern printed onto different surfaces, these are all tests.
this is a few layers of print onto a silky material. i like this because the colours compliment each other and stand out well on the fabric.

these are some images i created with mono print. the top 2 i used a lollipop stick to create the different lines, the next 2 are a range of colours printed with a little scratching to show the black paper they are printed onto. the last image is a mono print cut from a board then repeated.

these are some self portraits i have taken and edited. i prefer to use photos of myself in an edit rather then the original. the reason for using myself is so i can test different techniques in photoshop.

these are a few images f my next wallpaper. i screen printed 2 layers of a stencil i created of leaves. then i cut some out of orange pape in more detail and placed them ontop to finish.

these are the leaves i cut in more detail

these are of my wallpaper i created for my FMP, i screen printed the first layer of the tulips and then cut out the second layer from yellow paper and paste it across to finish the wallpaper. i did this because i was testing the use of different materials on the surface, this worked well because it looks very professional and the three colours compliment eachother.

this is a south african word in the language afrikaans, i used this because i was going for a political kind of theme, i created flowers and soft elements with harsh words in the language afrikaans, so it would trick the viewer into thinking its soft and harmless.

this is a piece i created out of one simple mono print. i took the print and repeated it creating this. i would use this as a wallpaper in a girls bedroom.

these are acouple pieces i created by layering afew pieces ontop of eachother and blending them together on photoshop. and then using a negative effect. i like the print behind, you can faintly see the leaves.
these images are some more layering on photoshop and then in negative effect.
