technique: layering

these are some forms or layering other than the buttons. i have added layers either by print or just with the hot glue gun. i did this to test the effect of layering to make a surface new again. some have worked well others are purely just tests.

technique: foiling

these are all foiling. when printing with foils you use the same steps from the flocking technique print foils. but with foils you place the foils shinny side up.

technique: flocking

these pieces i have created are a technique called flocking. where you use a glue called aquatex foil binder to create/print a design onto the surface and let dry completely. once dry you use the heat transfer machine to transfer the flocking to the piece. you place the flocking face down onto the surface you wish to print and leave in machine for 20 - 30 seconds. once done you peel back the flocking sheet and your prints done.

technique: cad

these area all different forms of cad use. i have created all of these with different tools in Photoshop. above you see 3 pieces where i have used a tablet to draw thee shapes and objects with a time limit of 3 minutes. below you see some pieces where i have gone out and taken a photograph of some artwork at a museum, and then edited the top layer to change the view.

technique: buttons

these are all pieces where i have added the buttons over the top of the work to create more layers and show depth within each piece. the reason for me using buttons is to reinvent the surface. give it a new life by adding new layers to create a whole new image.

uni reinvent project

this is a final piece i have created based on the theme lighting and how objects and shapes work on lighting. i have created silhouettes, this being a silhouette of a bird on a branch, where i have added stitch to show small amounts of detail. i put it onto a lampshade to show where i what market i would like this design to go into.
this is another final i have created and placed onto a lampshade, i used print with the fabrics crunched up to show the patterns on different areas. i then used a soldering iron to add the wholes into the fabric so the light would shine through and create a shadow.
this is a final i created for netting in a window,i used print with the fabrics scrunched up and then took it further with stitch and stitched the colours in lines over the print. i placed this in the frame of a window to show where id like the design to be in the market.
